How big a salary do you need in order to buy a home in Toronto? Plus, Apple is discontinuing a product that used to be a top seller. Richard Southern has the day’s top business stories.

Curse these people inflating housing prices
Basically you gottah sell drugs now to survive.
We have enemy nation citizens living in Canada buying homes and jacking their prices up so we can't buy them. Economic warfare. China has been doing this to us for years. Look at all the house bought up by Asian and Middle Eastern and Russian real-estate agents. Y'all think that's a coincidence?
I'd like to thank the foreign buyers and the liberal government for helping this become a reality.
what about the affordable home purchase programs? i recall few years ago there were programs to buy smaller apartmemts for cheap below market rates. now im toronto and most of canada we only have developers making rentals above market rates effectively raising prices.
Don't sleep on it… this is a time to invest i recently just bought another property valued at over $10m. I wish I knew the right investment firm to invest with earlier, better late than never thought
Buying even a small, older condo in Toronto is getting to be a bespoke luxury
There is an entire rest of the country that isn't Ontario. Expecting Toronto, and Ottawa to be affordable is ignorant. Both are filled with inflated govt services/employees with inflated salaries, and are the city centers of Canada. People should be developing the East Coast or the middle of the country. You don't HAVE to be in Ontario.
I've sold my house here for a nice profit and I'll be leaving as soon as cross province travel isn't discriminatory.
We can buy homes if Canada brings in more refugees.
WE CAUSE THIS ON OURSELVES. I MOVED OUT OF TORONTO.
…where can I find a good job/career w/ $90K+/yr salary?…everywhere I turn, they wanna offer starving wage w/ extensive experience. I don’t get it…when a decent shack cost a fortune, the pay just can’t be matched 🤷….so sad.
Yup. Expensive.
Building houses no one really wants to live doesn't help.
Governments should think ahead and build roads and subways that connect vast empty spaces to the big cities. It's the incompetence and exploitation by the government which caused this crisis
The city of Toronto has long been an expensive place to live. What's changing is that the outlying areas of the GTA where you once could find something affordable are now selling for Toronto prices.
Office buildings aren't plumbed for residency. They have bathrooms but they may not be able to handle the water demand of people showering or doing laundry.
Toronto and Vancouver is the new Shanghai and Beijing now. If u are part of the working class, just leave and find a place where you are wanted.
Only Doctors and Lawyers and Governments can buy a home, unless you have previous Assets.
Because of economic crisis and the rate of unemployment, now is the best time to invest and make money💯
good luck, everyone needs to be a doctor to afford a house there…
Hint #1: Avoid Toronto and area completely if you want to buy a home.
I left Toronto last year. Bought a brand new house 🏠 in Calgary for 500 000 💪I am having Life now 😊
