  1. I uploaded a couple of videos and was shocked I didn't go viral and become an immediate sensation!!! Looking back, I'm cringing on how bad they were, and surprised I got a few hundred followers even. Gorging on humble pie while listening to you.

  2. Dear Ali. Thanks to your videos and inspiring tenacity, I decided to jump on to YouTube and to start a podcast. A bit ambitious to start both at the same time, but you were so convincing about getting over the fear of posting your videos. Now that I have. Could you help me promote it? Thanks, Seth from Cape Town, South Africa!

  3. I needed a video like this for a long time. I have been wanting to have a youtube channel as I have always been interested in media. As a woman from a conservative and religious background, it is very very hard to open a youtube channel! I know I know that there are ideas of content that does not require you to put your face or voice out there but this isnt the type of content that I hope to make! And I am confident that I am not gonna hurt my religion but family and people who I care about would think otherwise. Seeing your video motivated me and reminded me of how much I have always wanted to have a youtube channel. It wont make my situation any better but it gives me the strength that I need to take a step towards my dream

  4. I’m partially bingeing your videos while working, procrastinating, and driving. A lot of what you say is helping me build the courage to start writing on Medium. But now I realize there is only so much courage you can build to do something. At a certain point you just have to ignore the courage:fear ratio and Nike it.

Thank you so much for your videos and honesty in them. I enjoy listening to you speak. Not just what you have to say, but what you say mixed with the tone of your voice and your accent. It’s very pleasant and a nice change of culture for me.

  5. Fantastic breakdown. I love what you said about differentiating between making videos as a hobby vs. with a business mindset. They are completely different approaches. I started last year but the procrastination killed my motivation and so I had to restart this year. Your videos are timeless and super helpful. Thank you.

  6. I would love to start a travel channel full time and earn enough money on YouTube to travel full time. ATM I am a full time Uber eats delivery driver. Good money and flexible working hours. So I’m thinking of working solid for 2 months, then travel for 1 month and make videos. Then repeat till my channel grows. Only issue I have is when I’m back working it’s all day every day. So the YouTube channel would be paused for 2 months. Is there much chance of growing a channel this way. Or would it be better to work for 1 year, bank as much money as possible, then travel for 6 months and try to grow the channel?

  7. Please stop wasting these precious papers Dude, more than 160,000 trees are chopped down by the paper industry every day just to make papers. It irritates me every time you put aside these papers after rough use, it feels like a total waste. You can easily replace these papers with a mini whiteboard, which could be more convenient. 🙂
