Wow. Thank you very much for the spirit, both of you, doctors. I didn't know that speaking out publicly about it for a doctor is such burden.
Every 3 years my depression meds stop working so I have to get a new Rx. Does this work because the brain runs on ketones instead of glucose?
Proud of doctors for recommending low carb keto diet…it kills appetite and raise positive 🙌😀energy!
It needs to be official treatment for obesity epidemic…I too loss 📉nearly 100 pounds on low carb and intermittent fasting 🏄🏽♀️🏄🏽♀️🏄🏽♀️🧜🏽♀️🧜🏽♀️🧜🏽♀️🌞☺🧚🏽♀️💛🦠💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽feels wonderful!💦💦💦
I’ve been on keto for 2 weeks and I swear my ocd is almost gone… also I was a binge drinker and I have no urges. I wouldn’t of believed it if I didn’t live it.
I do find it disturbing how careful people in the medical profession have to be to avoid being sanctioned for recommending something perfectly safe as an alternative to medication.
Yes yes YES! I literally cannot believe what I'm hearing as this conversation goes on! It is just amazing, to hear this man address so many things that are affected by our eating style!! This interview puts together so much information/ conversation content that I have watched over the last few years. This one is a treasure! I will share and share, thank you SO much! ⭐♥️⭐
I really appreciate how this doctor stayed true to the idea that we need more clinical trials before we can prescribe it as a first line attempt to treat some conditions. After being fooled by the food industry and its shoddy science for most of my life, I'm only going to follow the gold standard science for my own health. I feel like we have the concrete evidence of low carb diets helping with weight loss and metabolic health which is why I switched to Keto/low carb to help me with those issues. If this turns out to be preventative for Altimeters and other mental illness, that would be great.
Another excellent interview. The information was clear & accessable to lay people.
Never expected a Diet Doctor cliffhanger but looking forward to what's coming.
Thank you Drs Scher & Palmer.
Re: client cannot afford keto eating.
Dr Ken Berry and nurse Neisha dedicate part of their Monday night YouTube Q & A sessions to suggested purchases of animal products for the impoverished. Canned meats, cheap eggs, hot dogs and bologna, sardines, 10# tubes of ground beef are their suggestions. They say that the cheapest, lowest grade animal products are always better than processed starches and junk food. I can get 2,000 calories of animal products at my local dollar store for for under $4. No shame!
Amazing talk! And I confirm.. I feel much better since I reduced carbs!
This interview and provided information explains the positive changes to my mental health experienced as I've started keto. Thank you Diet Doctor and Dr. Palmer for giving me hope that my future will be leaner and happier 🙂
I disagree on the price of a keto diet. Vegetables, eggs, meat and cheese are cheap in comparison to biscuits, bread and other processed foods especially when they're being snacked on all day.
I’m on my first week of the ketogenic plan. I am using a mood graph to track my moods and sleep each day. I cannot wait to see how I feel AND if I lose the excess weight. My medications keep me from severe mood swings but the moodiness has always still been a problem. I pray this helps my bipolar symptoms and that it helps others with their struggles as well🙏
Dr Palmer and others like him are true heroes. It’s shameful they have to skirt the edges of legality
I’ve always said that both KarenCarpenter and Mama Cass essentially died from the “same disease “.
Dr Palmer, thank you for your brilliant mind, heart and vision!
"Guidelines" …? Would you mean guidelines set by same authorities that told us to fear cholesterol? Same authorities that are now mandating mass population vax? Quite dangerous to conform in situations of potential harm & put faith in those same "authorities "
That was very interesting, practical, and useful. Thank you.
Amazingly good interview.
Keep up the good job.
Imagine the mental potential locked down behind the SAD type of eating. Unlocking this would change the world !
Went trough this change 3 yrs ago, not looking back.
This video and all the information shared was absolutely fascinating. I enjoyed listening to both of you very much, thanks!

I was on 2 different SSRIs in June of this year. I have completely come off of these meds on the keto diet. I did have the help and guidance of my doctor. This was my idea not his but he helped me titrate off slowly. I feel better now mentally than I did on both meds. This works well people.
My mother has schizoaffective disorder (diagnosed in 2008) and dementia diagnosed beginning of 2017. Three years ago I became a health coach and helped her change her diet to a ketogenic diet and fasting lifestyle. Her Hemoglobin A1C came down from 9.9 to 8.2 within 2 months and now it’s 6.6 (last checked this October), her head scan is inconclusive as far as dementia compared to 4 years earlier, she’s lost weight, she’s off insulin shots (since the very beginning). Her kidney doctor insists in keeping her on low dose blood pressure meds. although her markers are doing so well. She’s more energetic, not forgetful or depressed as before. She continues to take her psych meds . She’s had no crisis since 2018 (when I started her on this diet and lifestyle).
Yes! Keto/carnivore 4 years. No more signs of bipolar!😀
Shout it from the rooftops!! This will help so many people who are suffering. Weight loss is just the tip of the iceberg for keto!
After a lifetime of struggle with depression, I went gluten free, then grain free, then very low carb. My depression evaporated and has never returned. I'm so grateful to have found this. I will be low carb for the rest of my life! Only after my discovery, did I begin to find affirmations like this interview. I did read about a parole officer who had great results with parolees who agreed to eliminate sugar and junk food. They lost their aggressions and anger, and basically they were able to live normally. Halleluja!
40:00 the part here where he talks about the reduction in ketones resulting in depression and suicidal thoughts is very real! When I let mine drop that low I just want to die.
Keto/Carnivore definitely helped me with food and alcohol disorders! Thank you, great interview!❤🍀
