A recent report from market intelligence firm IDC highlighted just which positions are growing the fastest in the IT sector.  Through a global survey of hiring managers in information technology and analysis of nearly two million IT job postings, IDC concluded that skills in cybersecurity, cloud, data analytics, Internet of Things, and converged infrastructure will be of the highest value in near future.

Apart from this, more than five million jobs in information technology are expected to be added globally by 2027. Here are some of the positions to look out for with the best growth potential by 2025.

Machine Learning Engineer

Machine learning engineers are advanced programmers who develop AI machines and systems that can learn and apply knowledge. Skillsets required for this job include knowledge of probability, statistics, and data modeling and applying ML libraries & algorithms written in languages such as C, C++, R, and Python.

Data Engineer

Data engineers work closely with data architects (to determine what data management systems are appropriate); whereas, data scientists (to determine which data is needed for analysis). They often wrestle with problems associated with database integration and messy, unstructured data sets.

Cloud Engineer

Going beyond Amazon, engineers working on AWS or Microsoft engineers working on Azure, cloud engineers will develop solutions at scale that are a mix of both in-house technology and outside systems. Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications can get one of the highest paying jobs in this field, earning an average salary in excess of $100K.

Web Applications Developer
